Starr Ranch Field Trip

In April the Home School Class took a field trip to the Audubon Starr Ranch Sanctuary, where we participated in the Hawk Research Program. In this simulation of hawk research, we learned how to identify, by sight and sound, the common hawks of Orange County. Outside, they had a “hands-on” experience with the REAL radio telemetry and GPS equipment that raptor biologists use to track hawks and map their nests.
